Over the years, he expanded his business experience to include Trucking companies hauling bulk cement, aggregate, and freight throughout Ohio and Michigan. He formed partnerships including a Beauty Salon & Spa, Restaurant, and a Welding Shop all in Lorain, Ohio ….. creating numerous employment opportunities for our community.

More partnerships were formed to develop vacant land and property in Lorain, Amherst, and North Ridgeville under the name of “Starland Investment Company” which brought additional jobs to Lorain County. A partnership named “Comrow LTD.” was formed to build a 300-acre Industrial Park in Sheffield Village which was completed with the first lease beginning in 2003.

Billy Rowland along with a group of like-minded people caused “Buckeye Community Bank” to be formed and chartered in October 1999. In 2000 a private foundation “The Rowland Family Foundation” was created and funded to insure a long term community commitment to the nonprofit sector, primarily Christian Ministries.

In 1993 he was awarded the “Small Business Person of the year Award”. In 2004 he received the “Eric Nord Award for Excellence in Community Service” from Leadership Lorain County, and in 2005 he was awarded the “Entrepreneur of the Year Award” through Lorain County Community College.

Rowland Enterprises continues to serve and expand in the real estate market with recent residential apartment acquisitions and commercial building development. Company principals and key personnel are professionally qualified and experienced in a wide range of commercial and residential applications including leasing, build-outs and construction.

Rowland Motors, Inc. is currently operating four successful JD Byrider Franchises in Marietta, Ohio, Parkersburg, Charleston and Clarksburg, W. VA. with expansion into Morgantown in 2010.

Recent investments have been made in reducing our carbon footprint as major recycling efforts are being made.  Pearl Avenue LLC is a successful partnership with Tom Eschtruth operating a local demolition landfill. A large Investment has also been made in a developing company to promote efficiency in the Oil and Gas well Industry.

In recent news Billy Rowland donated property consisting of 53 acres and a beautiful lake property to The Elyria Township Trustees to add to their recent property acquisition of 15 acres and was honored to have the park named “The Rowland Nature Preserve” off  Murray Ridge Rd. View the article
